Converting HEIC to JPG

Ok here’s the deal, if you’re using iOS 11 or later your phone has the capability to save photos as either JPG or HEIC file types. HEIC is an Apple only thing that is a high quality photo but takes up less space than a JPG. Pretty cool, until you try to use that file in a program that doesn’t support HEIC. Womp womp. Keep your photos on your phone only? Great! Making an album, print, photo gift… sometimes not so great. So here is what you do. You have an .HEIC file on your computer? Or a huge folder of them?

Pull in files and convert. Once you have the program downloaded this is basically a non-issue to use. So go grab it. It’s free. It’s fast. It’s easy. Once you have it on your computer, these are the steps:

  • Open iMazing HEIC Converter
  • Drag and drop your pictures
  • Choose JPG or PNG
  • Drag the slider to set the Quality
  • Click Convert
  • Choose where you want to save the JPG on your computer
  • Click OK (boom, done)
